70% Wool 30% Manufactured Fibers - Rayon / Viscose
To ensure projects crafted with Scheepjes Terrazzo stay looking their absolute best, Scheepjes have updated and clarified the advice for laundering. Scheepjes recommend hand washing only, at a maximum temperature of 30°C. To prevent possible further felting, the item should be washed separately, with minimal agitation. Excess water should be gently squeezed out, rather than wrung.
Terrazzo is made from a Premium blend of 70% Recycled Mulesing Free Wool and 30% Recycled Viscose. This felted, tweed yarn has a luxurious look and feel. The subtly speckled colour effect, reminiscent of terrazzo floors, is achieved by twisting fibres of contrasting and complementary colours.
Scheepjes Terrazzo benefits from the breathability of Wool and Viscose and combines the best qualities of both. Lightweight Viscose is moisture absorbent and gives a silky soft feel with beautiful drape, while the wool contributes the rustic appearance and wonderful warmth. This makes Terrazzo suitable for a diverse range of crochet and knitting projects of all shapes and sizes: from clothing, such as sweaters and cardigans, to fashion accessories and homeware. It’s perfect also for knitting and crocheting in multiple colours and can be effectively combined with Scheepjes yarns in other textures, such as Alpaca Rhythm and Mohair Rhythm.
The recommended hook and needle size is 4.00mm (gauge: 27 stitches x 35 rows to 10cm in stockinette stitch). Scheepjes Terrazzo is available in 50g (175m) balls and as a colour pack of 10g (35m) mini balls comprising all 60 colours in the range.
As a company, Scheepjes is constantly looking for opportunities to innovate and become a more sustainable brand that offers responsible choices for eco-conscious crafters. Terrazzo is Scheepjes’ first fully recycled fibre yarn and its wool content is guaranteed to be mulesing free. To give customers confidence that this yarn is safe and free from harmful chemicals, Terrazzo also holds the trusted OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification.
