Lana Gatto Maxi Soft is a thick and soft Extra Fine Merino yarn. This smooth Aran-weight merino yarn is perfect for knitting cozy hats, warm sweaters, or cowls quickly and easily. Maxi Soft merino wool yarn is an excellent choice for cable patterns and other chunky knits for the whole family. The round, thick yarn is also easy for beginners to knit.

Merino wool is ideal for sensitive skin; it doesn't itch or irritate. With 2-3 skeins of Maxi Soft yarn, you can knit a basic hat with a folded brim. Choose needles between 3mm and 4.50mm, depending on your desired firmness and gauge. For an even chunkier hat, combine the yarn with silk mohair (2-3 skeins of Maxi Soft, 1-2 skeins of silk mohair, needles around 5mm-6mm) or knit Maxi Soft double-stranded with larger needles.

The manufacturer's recommended needle size is 6mm for a gauge of 17 stitches and 21 rows = 10 cm.
