Veritas Marion: a multifunctional all-rounder

The computer-controlled sewing machine Veritas Marion has no less than 310 different stitch programmes – utility, stretch, overlock and decorative stitches, as well as numbers and letters. In addition, certain stitch patterns can be mirrored along the vertical axis via the mirror function. The 10 different buttonholes are sewn fully automatically and personal settings of certain stitches can be easily memorized with the Memory button. Veritas Marion is a sewing machine that thinks along with you. For example, it automatically adjusts the stitch width when using a twin needle and has an automatic tie-off function. With the Edit button, the stitch width, stitch length, mirror function and tie-off function can also be changed manually and adapted to your preferences. With the included extension table, the work surface can become larger, so that there is less tension on the fabric and needle with large workpieces. Veritas Marion has a net weight (including accessories) of 5.90kg and measures 40.4 cm length x 18.8 cm width x 27.7 cm height. Supplied with an instruction manual and the accessories listed below.

Everyone sometimes wonders who came up with a particularly brilliant idea for a specific utensil. For items like the tissue box and floss, the answer is Marion Donovan. She is also the inventor of waterproof pants for over a cotton diaper. Just after the Second World War she made such pants for her own baby from a shower curtain on her sewing machine. Sometime later, her most famous invention followed: the disposable diaper.
